Sam started Kindergarten

Sam started Kindergarten last week!  Here she is all ready with her backpack and lunch.

It was terrible rainy that day, so she had to get all her gear on.  She was most excited to take the bus to school on the first day....unfortunately we missed it!  I drove her to school and walked her in to where the kids were all lining up for their teachers and I went to take a picture of her and I couldn't find my phone.  I gave Sam a hug and a kiss and told her to have fun and she ran to her line without looking back.  I didn't have time to worry about her because I had to find my phone.  I started retracing my steps when I parent handed it in to a teacher by the door.  I ran and asked for it, it had been found on the sidewalk!  I was so full of emotions to have found my phone, sent my first off to school, that I was numb.
Sam had a wonderful first day of school and said that she really enjoys recess so far.  She also loves taking the bus, and we go early now to make sure we don't miss it and I make sure I have my phone.

Our Town had a Block Party

We have had such a good experience in our new little town.  It is so family friendly.  They had a Block Party and invited the whole town for free rides, games and treats!
Sam got her face painted

Cute "kiss"

Sam rode a pony for free

Henry enjoyed ice cream

Jack liked it too!

All Safe

Hurricane Irene appears to have come and gone. With the exception of a tree in our backyard that fell in between our home and our neighbor's home causing no damage and a little dampness in a corner of the home, we've come through without any incident.

We feel very grateful for the protection we've had and hope and pray that others are safe and protected.

Happy Pioneer Day!

Brad's Mother is an amazing seemstress and made Samantha and me beautiful pioneer dresses! Unfortunately, we didn't have a party to wear them to this year. Hopefully next year. Thanks Dawnell!

New Jersey

So, here we are! We have officially been in our house for two weeks, now. The kids are loving it! The weather has been super hot this last week, but it is supposed to cool down a little this next week. We have made a bunch of friends and are getting used to this East Coast lifestyle.
Holy cow! I just saw a big black bear run through my yard! Yes, we have quite a bit of wildlife here! We often see families of deer, have a resident ground hog in the neighbor's back yard and lots of birds and squirrel. Brad has been working a lot, and will be out of town for a couple of weeks. He really likes his job and is getting used to not dealing with clients.
Heavenly Father has blessed us so much! We are so grateful for all we have and for all of our friends and family!
Come and visit us!

Sam's last day of Preschool!

We have loved having Sam and Henry in Preschool with Ms. Kristen and Ms. Kathy. They are so loving and kind. Sam has met fun friends and has been really well prepared for Kindergarten. We are sad to leave such a fun atmosphere here in Irvine. We hope our next adventures out east will prove just as great!

Sam's Dance Recital

Samantha had her end of the year dance recital last week.  It was actually a dress rehearsal that was held in their practice room because the real recital was going to be after we moved.  (Yes the practice room is the garage of the instructor).  She did great!  She loved getting dressed up and then performing with her friends.  We are so glad that she is liking dance and is doing well in it!

Seriously?

This morning while having his morning breakfast, this little one pushed himself back from the table and decided to kick up his feet and relax. Seriously?
